RCI-Rural Community Innovations has worked with over 250 businesses and communities in twelve states. The following list of places where we have worked is a sample of the types of work assignments we have pursued passionately. PRIME Technologies, LLC - Pre-development of a $65MM integrated technology complex in South Dakota. Integrates animal feeding, fuel ethanol production, anaerobic digestion, and waste treatment to produce milk, fuel ethanol, animal feed, biogas, biofertilizers and liquid CO2; zero discharge of animal manure or industrial process waste into the water shed. RCI role: environmental assessment, federal grant contracting, and $10MM loan guarantee. The Navajo Nation – Strategic planning and economic development for the Navajo Nation to create the Four Corners Enterprise Community (4CEC); work with the Ute Mountain Ute and the Hopi Tribes to accomplish $25MM worth of activities in the first two years of operations. RCI role: ten-year strategic plan, initial $2.5MM federal funding, set up and maintenance of EC’s benchmarks in USDA’s Online Benchmark Management System. Sterling Technologies - Value-added manufacturer of bovine colostrum for human consumption. RCI role: strategic marketing plan, repositioning company in the natural foods marketplace, assisting in securing financing for a new manufacturing facility. Hopi Tribe – Concept feasibility study of $16MM commercial development for Upper Village of Moenkopi; helped secure 501(c)(3) status for Moenkopi Developers Corporation; grant from EPA for $1.2MM for new water wells; and financing for a new $2.5MM sewage treatment plant. La Gente Forest Products – Assisted creation of community-based forestry initiative in Northern New Mexico and helped secure capitalization of $1.5MM. Lamb Producers Cooperative – Feasibility analysis for a three-state cooperative proposing to construct HAACP-certified lamb processing plant. Beadle and Spink Enterprise Community – Concept feasibility study for creation of a rural technology center and sponsoring legislation to create $10MM national rural e-commerce demonstration program. Bozeman Technology Roundup – conceptualized and managed rural business/venture capital festival in Montana under auspices of local development corporation. Venture funded PrintingForLess.com which has set new standards and is flourishing in e-commerce. |
